We have used coal, oil, gas, and nuclear as sources of energy for decades and as such these sources have come to be known as “conventional energy.” This plentiful supply of energy has allowed our country to grow and prosper. And for that, we thank these industries.
Lately, we have followed a national energy strategy that, in order to keep up with growing energy demand, states that we need to rely on all energy types.
However, we have come to find some flaws with conventional energy including that emissions from them are bad for human health and environmental health, some are sourced in unstable regions, they are not an inexhaustible supply, and they all are becoming more expensive.
With these negatives in mind, our country has researched, invented, and developed new sources of energy. These sources have lower lifecycle costs than conventional energy, zero emissions (with no effects on human health or environmental health), are geopolitically secure, and are inexhaustible. These sources have come to be known as “renewable energy.”
Now that we know the benefits of renewable energy and the negatives of conventional energy, it is time to move toward renewable energy technologies, energy efficient technologies, and energy conservation technologies as quickly as possible. For individuals, organizations, businesses, and governments it is time to say yes to solar. It is time to say “Rock the Sun.”
