Lara Baron

Laura Baron Besides children’s music, Laura performs and composes contemporary folk, blues and jazz. 
She has been singing and composing since the 1980s.
She has won three Gold Awards (2004, 2007, 2008) from the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest and has won a Parents’ Choice Gold Award from the Parents’ Choice Foundation.

anthonyAnthony Bennett, formerly was a Special Assistant at the US EPA (where he helped write a Presidential Executive Order mandating recycling for the federal government) and at the US DOE (where he promoted renewable energy). 
Later he was an adjunct lecturer at Georgetown University’s business school for 7 years. 
In his spare time he wrote fun and educational songs for his twin boys.


Frank CasselFrank Cassel, who goes by The Banjo Man, is a multi-award winning full time entertainer, musician, and songwriter working in the Washington, DC area. His ‘Gravity’ song won an award in the Mid Atlantic Song Contest.
Recent performances include: the National Theatre in Washington, DC; TV appearances, and shows at festivals and events.

The duo writes smart, playful lyrics and uses sweet harmonies, energetic guitar, melodic mandolin, and piano to draw young listeners into learning early grade science concepts.
Rick & Audrey have garnered multiple nominations from the Washington Area Music Association, including Best Children’s Music Artists.

Marsha Goodman-WoodMarsha Goodman-Wood DC-based singer/songwriter and music teacher Marsha Goodman-Wood is known for getting kids singing and dancing at her shows, setting little toes to tapping with original melodies that mix generous doses of science and positive social messages into songs that are just plain fun.
Her quirky, smart compositions take on topics from astronomy (answering the age-old question “Why Can’t You Dance on Jupiter?”) to nonconformity (“Sheep Don’t Wear Shoes”) to biology (“The Penguin Song”).

Linda Howard HisermanLinda Howard Hiserman: Linda has won numerous awards from the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, Great American Song Contest, Songwriters of Wisconsin, and the Dallas Songwriters Assoc. She wrote a mini-musical, “The Did You Know?” show based on the Social Studies curriculum for the state of VA.
It was listed in the Preferred SOL programs for Fairfax County, VA.
She was commissioned by American Music Stage to write and compose original material for “The Sleeping Beauty Musical.”
Linda co-wrote the script for “Helena’s Wish” (a fairytale musical) and wrote all l5 songs in the show.
This show received an international stamp of approval by placing in the top l2 finalists with Mercury Musicals in London, England.
Mercury Musicals patrons include Stephen Sondheim, and Dame Judy Dench.
Linda currently serves as the Vice-President of the Songwriters Association of Washington.

Peter McCoryPeter McCory, has been performing for kids professionally since 1996, but the musical thread runs through his entire life.
He started off on the ukulele, and now also plays guitar, piano, banjo and drums.
He’s been writing songs since he was about ten years old, and the love of songwriting has never left him.
As a real one-man band, he sings and plays guitar, drums, harmonica, kazoo and a couple of other instruments all at the same time.
He’s a frequent visitor to schools, libraries, childcare centers, shopping malls and birthday parties.
Peter has won Parents’ Choice Awards and national acclaim from library journals for his CDs of original children’s music, and was named the winner in CBS Television’s “Hawaii Five-O Theme Song Contest” in 2010. He’s also been featured in The Washington Post Magazine.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA.

Susan McNelisSusan McNelis, who goes by Oh Susannah! Is an award-winning singer/songwriter.
Susan McNelis performs for hundreds of delighted children and parents every week in the Washington DC area in dozens of venues including The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the National Theatre. 
Susan won second place in the JPF International Song Competition-children’s category, from over 100,000 songs entered.
Her three CDs of original and familiar songs are energizing, amusing and educational.
